The theory behind shaving the seat is to be able to gain a little better footing while stopped on the bike.
This mod is pretty straight forward, but I will walk you through it....
Here are the tools you will need. Not pictured is a pair of needle nose pliers, but I found them useful for pulling the staple from the plastic seat pan.

First remove the two seat bolts. I use the hex key that came with the bike.

Then take a blurry picture of you wedging your screwdriver between the seat pan and the staple.

Use your pliers to pull the staple once you have it loose.

Once you have all the staples out, you should be able to peal the cover from the foam.

Once you have the cover off, mark the seat with a pen, so you have guidelines to follow when you cut. Either have someone hold the seat or, use a vise.... I had someone hold the seat, because she looked better than the vise.

Begin cutting away the seat foam following your pen marks on the foam.

This is what it will look like while in the process of getting your desired height.

Did I forget to mention when it comes to sanding and shaping, this could get messy. You may want to do this outside, or somewhere you don’t mind cleaning up foam.

Once you get the desired amount of foam off the seat, and shape it to your liking, you want to sand it down with sandpaper to smooth it out. I think I used 80 grit, but lower grit would work.
You would be surprised on how much foam will come off this thing.

Once you are satisfied with your smooth seat foam, place the seat cover over the seat. Two people are useful for this step. While one person stretches the seat cover, the other can staple.

Now clean up, and reinstall your seat, and secure the seat to the bike.
