So I am thinking about doing a couple track days next year, and dont really wanna track my R1. So I was thinking about getting a 2nd bike. I know alot of ppl recommend sv650's which I am looking for, but what about a buell blast? I am seeing a few in my price range (2-3k) and they are in good condition. Also how about the older sportbikes like the cbr's and gsxr's would they be good options? Thanks for your opinions

You could probably score a CBR F2 or F3 for dirt cheap. Great bikes. I have heard the sv650's are great, because it's very fun to ride and it's easy on your wallet.

I wanted to get an r6, but all the '03/04 I found were priced over my budget. Always liked the 600rr, and got to ride one a couple years ago when my cousin bought one new. And one of my boys that I ride with has a '03 rr.

It has 12k on it, only mods are the yoshi slip-on and frame sliders. I've taken it out a few times and I have to say I am very impressed with the bike. I know alot of ppl have negative feeling toward the rr due to weight and power, but I feel the opposite. The 600rr is well balanced and the powerband is linear so there are no 'surprises'. Although it has crappy worn dunlops on there I took it on one of my fav local twisties, and it proved that articles stating on how it inspires confidence were correct. Can't wait to do some trackdays next spring and have fun. By than I'll have seat time to write a lil blurb on riding a 1000cc to a 600cc.

Damn that is a nice track bike. Sould be a great time, those 600RR's seem to be the loudest bikes on the track.
