Go out in the midday sun :)

Took the R1 out for a bit of a rip this morning, wasn't planning on going as far but you know how these things are :lol

First stop, just out onto the moors.

Smiddy Shaw Reservoir, Consett is to the right of the picture and Newcastle is away in the far middle distance.

Gratuitous bike pic :)

Where I came from.

Where I was heading. Yes we do get that much snow in winter.

Beautiful open roads, not more than the odd farmer or sight-seer to slow you down.

Time for Elevenses, the wonderful Hartside Cafe. Not a bad turn out for midweek.

The road up, midway on one of the best biking roads in the UK.

The road down...

The Summit of Hartside Pass.

Biking heaven snaking off into the distance, the Lake District is away to the left.

Rode back via High Force, passed 2 Police bikes coming the other way. I was caning it round a right hander when I saw them so I just gave them a wave and carried on. They waved back!

Middleton-in-Teesdale. Popular stop for afternoon tea.

Some great roads lead from here...

Noticed the mobile dentist after I got home, mustn't be enough trade for a full time dentist out in the sticks.

By the time I got home I was sweating my chocks off, I just sat and looked at the bike. It's beautiful, just look at that rear-end.

Good bits, running flat out in 3rd & 4th through some amazing twisties, bike performing like a dream. Caning it down deserted B roads without a care in the world.

Bad bits, the heat. So hot the tar is melting and you can smell it as you are tipping in. Oo-er.

Well for my troubles I had a punctured rear the next morning :lol
