I will be picking up my 02 R1 tomorrow. I have had nothing but R6's since 99. I hope I like the R1 just as much. I plan on picking up an R6 track bike later.

Congrats on the purchase. I have an R6 now but I'm looking into purchasing the '07 R1 and turning my 6 into a track bike (which is already in process).

I will definately be picking up a cheap R6 for a track only bike. I don't think this one will ever see the track.

Check out websites like www.nesba.com - it's a lot cheaper to buy a fully track prepped bike than it is to make one. I'm doing it for the fun and to learn more about my bike.

Once you ride it , then you might change your mind.

I am really not impressed with this bike. I know for a fact this bike will never be a track bike. I would much rather beat a litre bike on the track with an R6 than with an R1.

I like the R1 but it's really not all that more than the R6 is.
