Yes i am a traitor. I went today to trade my 05 R6 for a 06 R6. I sat on the R1 also.. BAD MISTAKE!!! Seat on the R1 is narrower and is lower than the R6. Plus have wished all last year i had bought a R1. So i go pick up my Back Beauty in the morning. So now i am Bikeless!!!:furious :( . My only concern is the xtra weight in the curves. but guess will get acustom to it in time.
You will not notice much diff. at all in the handling department.
You will notice the power delivery though :D

yep it handles awesome. I loved the new 06 r6 and i almost bought it. But after riding my 03 r6 for 2 years and the my 05 for a year i felt the need to move up to the 1. The best decision i have ever made. Handles damn near close to the the r6. And as the years progress the liter bikes are just going to get lighter and faster. Soon there wont be much difference in the handling department from the 600s to the 1000s. They are pretty damn close as they are now.

OH btw. welcome. And there are many of us R6messagenet traitors over here. Although i dont really consider it that. For those of us that started out on the r6, the r6 will alway run through our blood.

Got my R1 yesterday. It was kinda cold...In other words froze my arse off on the ride home. but there is only 1 thing i have to say about the pure sexyness in my driveway.. I SCARED!!!!! i know it will take time to get use to the bike but the throttle response got me scared... My brother has a 05 Busa. i ride it all the time, but correct me if im wrong... the power to weight ratio on it doesnt seem as big as the R1...

congrats. and be careful. The r1 is much lighter than the busa so front comes up much more.

I think the throttle is so much better on the R1 than it was on my R6. It's seems more stable also.

power delivery is awesome on the 1... and yes, the R1 is lighter and has a bit more HP than a busa.

Trading an R6 for an R1 is kinda like your GF leaving you for another chick. You get upset, but you understand. :wink Congrats!
