I just wanted to say Hello to the fellow members. I'm not riding yet and I'm on the fence as to what bike I want and what size bike I want. I am looking to learn from this forum and as well as contribute. I am an automotive/ truck technician and hope that with my experience I can contribute to this forum. Of course cars and trucks aren't bikes but they do run on an internal combustion engine. :D

welcome!

if it's your first bike, I'd suggest starting on a 600cc bike or smaller. Different opinions, but you'll learn faster on a smaller bike.

good luck with you choice

Thanks, I appreciate the input and will take it into account. After reading some of the forum stories it all boils down to a 600cc for a starter bike. All the while close friends were recommending a bigger bike. I am considering the 600cc for sure. Thanks again.

don't take this the wrong way, but they are not your friends if they want a first time rider to start on a liter bike. The power of 1000cc will get you into trouble quicker.

start witht he 600 and I personally guarantee that by the end of the summer you will be a better rider than half your friends. With a couple of mods, you'll beat them off the line and burn them in the twisties.
