Just wondering what are the positives and negatives in removing the Exup system on an 05 model?

I removed the valve and the exhaust portion on my '05 when I installed a full Graves system. I left the servo attached so it would not throw any faults. Have had no problems at all.
I hear if you unplug the servo motor, it will cause some faults and problems, not sure how you would work around that.
Are you just removing the EXUP or installing aftermarket pipes as well?
