Hi everyone, this is my first post on here so let me know if I'm doing something wrong...

Anyway, I am looking for a brake pad that has a really quick and hard bite for my street 99 R1. I want a pad that has the quickest and hardest initial bite with the least amount of effort at speeds of 140mph and higher. I do not use the brakes a lot at those speeds, maybe once or twice every 5 minutes so they will not run as hot as on a track when your hard on the brakes every few seconds.

Right now I have Carbone Lorraine SBK3's and I am not impressed. My race bike runs Vesrah RJL's which I am much more happier with. However I was wondering if there is any pad out there that would bite quicker, harder and require less effort than the RJL's at the conditions described above.

Hmmm, I'm running EBC HH pads on my 99 R1, though I would say they don't have that much initial bite. More progressive like a hard stock pad. So maybe that will help.

i recommend the Ferodo Sintergrip. it's very good for everyday/trackday use. i would also recommend you upgrade from your stock brakelines.

Both EBC HH and Ferodo 911 (Sinter) are good pads for sharp initial bite... Both also last pretty well on the street....
Ferodo came out with a new Organic compound 211 pad.... Pretty friggin amazing... and the cost is in line with the others as well..... Give them a try you wont regret it...
